TLDR: Because of ongoing NAND supply issues, the price of Expand Mac mini will increase to $380. This takes effect on 15 Feb JAN at 00:00 GMT.

I wish I had a better message, but this one is simply about the parts market and upstream supply chain catching up with us.

Over the past weeks, our NANDs have become extremely hard to source. There are always touts hoarding supply, and right now there is almost nothing left in the open market. As a result, the stock that is available has roughly doubled in price. On top of that, the wider memory market is still under pressure, with huge demand from AI data centres also pushing storage component pricing and availability in the wrong direction.

We do not make those NANDs. We design and manufacture the boards that house it, then we build and test each unit properly. When the core parts move this much, we have to move as well, otherwise the numbers simply do not work. To keep the business afloat and keep support and warranty solid, the new price will be $380.

We genuinely hope this is temporary, similar to the previous RAM crunch. I cannot promise a timeline, but I do hope things ease within 2026.

There is one piece of good news. Cross-border tariff pressure has eased a little, so we are removing the tariff surcharge for US orders. If you are in the US, you should see that reflected at checkout.

The market is much busier now, with a lot more vendors offering similar products. Expand Mac mini is still seeing steady traffic and orders, and I appreciate that trust more than I can say. We were one of the early vendors in this space and we are also the ODM behind the board design. More importantly, we back it up with no-nonsense customer service and after-sales support. If something goes wrong, we deal with it properly. We will continue to honour the warranty and help you through any issues, this is where we stand out.
